I was lucky to be a part of Repurposed, a documentary series created to tell the story of recycling the way most people never see it. Instead of focusing on the household bin, the series follows the world of industrial recycling—where the vast majority of recycling in America actually happens—tracking metals like steel, copper, aluminum, and stainless, along with paper products like newspaper and cardboard, as they’re transformed into new materials and everyday goods. At its core, Repurposed is about correcting a false narrative: recycled materials aren’t a side story—they’re essential to modern manufacturing, our infrastructure, and the health of our environment.
